I made over $200,000 via online casino promotions from 2022-2023. AMA
From June 2022 - May 2023, I traveled with my family (3 other members) went on what I call a "casino churning spree" where we completed every single profitable casino promotions that exist in four main casino states: NJ, PA, MI, and WV.
Our cumulative profit at the end of hitting all 4 states were just shy of $200K. But thanks to GN PA, WynnBET WV (no longer operating), and various recurring promotions, our cumulative profit is now well past $200k and growing.
What makes my casino journey unique was that I knew exactly what my edge was (down to the decimal points), the expected profit per person (down to the nearest dollar), and the bankroll needed to pull this off.
My strategy isn't about relying on luck, exploiting vulnerabilities, or finding secret loopholes. It’s about employing a systematic and strategic method that tips the odds in players' favor and guarantee short-term profitability via profitable welcome promotions.
And most importantly, it is replicable.
Let me show you how I did it.

Can anyone do this?

In order to take full advantage of the offers, you must be able to place wagers on online casinos in the U.S. The following restrictions are put in place and apply to everyone:
You must be at least 21 years old
  1. Be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  2. Must be physically present in the gambling-legal states when placing a bet online
  3. You must not be self-excluded from online wagering
Additionally, in order to place online wagers, you must have a phone, a laptop, or a tablet and have access to the Internet. Although you can also use your PC, it is not very practical to bring your PC with you to each state.
Note: You do not need to be a resident of one of the casino states to be able to create a casino account, make a deposit, and withdraw (other than one or two exceptions). You only need to be physically present in the gambling-legal states when placing wagers online.
Important: If you have a problem with gambling addiction, I ask you to stop reading right now and work on addressing that issue first. No amount of profit will ever make up for the financial damage that can be done by having these issues.

Online casino promotions and how they work

All online casino games have a built-in house edge that essentially guarantees them profit in the long run. This is a well-known and an undeniable fact.
And the way casinos operate is pretty simple. If casinos can attract more players to gamble on their platform while retaining them from leaving, they can make more money.
Traditionally, land-based casinos employ various tactics to attract and retain new customers such as giving free comps, offering VIP treatments & discounted hotel stays.
Online casinos operate similarly to brick-and-mortar casinos except they focus heavily on bonuses and promotions to attract new players, such as lucrative welcome offers, referral bonuses, and VIP/loyalty programs.
These types of promotions are designed and structured to be so enticing that they can attract new players, especially high rollers, to sign up.
And with the legalization of online casinos across multiple states, many online casinos are competing with each other to grab a larger share of the new market in the hopes of generating more revenue.
But how good are these promotions really? Let's take a look at some of the current and past offers.
  • BetMGM - 100% deposit match up to $2,500 plus $50 on the house and 50 free spins
  • Caesars - 100% deposit match up to $2,500
  • WynnBET - 100% deposit match up to $1,000 plus 1000 free spins
  • betPARX - 100% deposit match up to $750 plus 500 spins
  • Hardrock - 100% deposit match up to $1,000 plus 50 spins
  • Fanduel - 100% net-loss bonus match up to $1,000 for the first 24 hours
  • ESPN Bet (Previously barstool)- 100% deposit match up to $1,000 in cashback
Now take a look at the list of all profitable offers: 2023 Casino Welcome Bonuses by PS. This sheet is compiled by me and updated monthly.
You don't need to be familiar with casino promotions to recognize their potential value. However, there's truly no such thing as free money because there's a catch to cashing out these casino bonuses.
Once you sign up and opt-in to the promotion, your deposit and the bonus amount become locked. In order to withdraw your deposit and the bonus, you must wager your bonus amount specific number of times. Depending on the online casinos, it can range anywhere from 1X to 40X the bonus amount and specified in the promotion's T&Cs.
Because these promotions require you to play through the bonus multiple times before you can withdraw, the expected value (potential profit) that you can extract from these promotions can be significantly less than the face value of the bonus they are offering.
But by using a combination of mathematically-profitable and optimal strategies, you stand to extract 40%~80% of the bonus amount.
In other words, by only completing profitable casino welcome offers, you stand to gain 40%~80% advantage as a new player.

Why are online casinos giving out so much money?

The idea behind this marketing strategy is that casinos can attract new players to sign up for casino accounts, deposit money, and hope that they get hooked on gambling and continue wagering on their platform instead of going elsewhere.
The concept is equivalent to why banks and credit card companies give out lucrative sign-up bonuses and recurring rewards to new and existing consumers, respectively.
They offer these incredible welcome offers to new users often at a loss. Eventually, they will recoup their loss and profit as the acquired users become loyal customers who continue to stay on their platform and use their service.
This is a proven and frequently used marketing technique, and you may already have noticed these sign-up offers pop up on your social media feeds as more states legalize online gambling.

How can I profit? Show me the math!

The inherent value of these sign-up offers puts us in a position where we have a huge advantage over the casinos in the short term.
Now, at the most basic level, you can complete the casino bonus using a high RTP (Return to Player) slot to complete the wagering requirement.
The RTP (Return to Player) percentage is a measure of how much money is returned to players over the long term, as a percentage of the total amount of money that is wagered. RTP figure represents the amount of money a player can expect to win from their bets when playing slots.
Higher the RTP = Higher the slot's payout = Higher the profit for any given casino promotion
So let's take a look at BetMGM $2,500 WV deposit match promotion.

BetMGM WV Welcome Promotion
In order to take full advantage of this signup offer, you must deposit $2,500 into BetMGM WV, and you will immediately receive $2,500 in casino bonus. But in order to withdraw the casino bonus, you must wager 15 times the bonus amount (15 X $2,500 = $37,500).
Let's say we choose an eligible slot Egg-O-Matic (96.5% RTP) to complete the wagering requirement.
Expected value (EV) of this promotion is calculated as follows:
EV = Bonus - [ Bonus x Playthrough requirement x (1- return to player percentage) ]
  • Bonus = $2,500
  • Wagering requirement = 15
  • RTP = 0.965
EV = $1187.50
In another words, if you were to complete the entire wagering requirement via Egg-O-Matic slot, your expected value of this promotion is $1,187.50.
Note that I keep using the word "expected value", and not the word "profit". This is because each spin on slots is randomly generated and inherently volatile. Therefore, it is impossible to say what your actual profit will be at the end of the wagering requirement due to the variance that is unique to the slot.
Sometimes, you will profit way more than your EV. Sometimes, you may even go bust. But more times than not, your actual profit will hover somewhere near the EV.
Although there may be deviations in your actual profit from the EV, the slot's RTP guarantees a specific return on your wager over the long run and you can determine exactly, down to the cents, of what your potential profit should be.
But this is not where our story ends.
As it stands, your profit margin is $1187.50/$2500 = 47.5%. This value is not bad but it's not good either. We can do better.
If you have large enough bankroll and can stomach large swings in profit and losses, you can actually increase the EV significantly by incorporating variance into how these promotions are completed and how you structure your bets.
By using these advanced strategies, you can increase the expected value of the promotion to $2,050 equating to profit margin of 82%.
And this brings me to the my next point.

How much can I make doing these casino promotions?

Among the four of us, we took home shy of $50k per person at the end our casino journey. But we were doing this during the second golden age of casino promotions (first golden age of casino promotions were maybe 2-3 years ago).
During this time, online casinos were giving out bigger signup offers, five-figure VIP introductory deposit match offers, and generous recurring offers like candy.
So our results are skewed on the higher end of the spectrum. But that doesn't mean there isn't enough valuable offers left for others to enjoy.
Now take a look again at all the profitable casino offers: 2023 Casino Welcome Bonuses by PS
As of Dec 1, 2023, if you never previously signed up on any of the online casinos and if you were to clear all the promotions across 4 states using the conventional method (via high RTP slot), you're looking at a cumulative expected value of $13,000.
But by using advanced strategies discussed in the course (shameless plug incoming at the end of post), you are looking to extract a cumulative expected value of $21,000 and more.

How long does it take to complete the promotions in each state?

This will depend heavily on your risk tolerance and how much bankroll you have.
If you CANNOT stomach seeing your profit and loss swing by more than a few hundred dollars, you can reduce your risk exposure by spinning at a very small amount per spin. That being $1/spin.
However, time is money as well. Completing the wagering requirement for any decently sized bonus at $1/spin will take easily 15+ hours of non-stop spinning. But if that's what it takes for you, then it shall be.
Theres nothing wrong with spinning at smaller spin size to reduce your exposure to risk. But it is definitely going to feel like it's going to take forever.
If you CAN stomach such larger swings in profit and losses in real-time, then you can increase your spin size to $2-$5/spin. This will increase your wagering speed and you will be able to complete the wagering requirement much faster.
But start with a smaller offer first to get a feel for what's it like to complete a casino signup promo. Then adjust your spin size accordingly to what you are comfortable with. There is no right or wrong answer here.
Assuming that you did prior prepping of accounts (signup, verify, opt-in, and deposit), have large enough bankroll, and have access to multiple electronic devices, 3-5 days is enough to simultaneously knock out all promotions in a single trip, per state.

Why share this information? Why not keep it to yourself?

There are three reasons why I can discuss my knowledge and why I decided to create a website and a course - Tilting the Odds - based on it.
The first reason is that there is a maximum limit to the potential earnings.
The strategies covered in the course revolve around completing welcome offers, and there is a finite number of these offers available. Once you have completed them, they cannot be repeated. If it were possible to do so, it would create an infinite money loophole, and I would have taken this infinite money glitch all the way to my grave!
Therefore, there is no incentive for me to hoard and gate-keep this information. It is far more beneficial to share it with others, sparking new discussions on this topic that can benefit the entire group.
The second reason is that my true passion lies in teaching and entrepreneurship.
While I have certainly enjoyed my winnings over the years, I have always wanted to embark on new ventures.
After completing all the available promotions and helping my family members & friends profit, I realized it was time for me to move onto the next chapter in my life.
Through the creation of this course, my objective was to attain personal gratification and fulfillment. I wanted to empower individuals to generate potentially life-changing income, all while receiving fair compensation for the assistance and value I provide.
And I am happy to share with you that I have achieved both! I had a blast developing the course from scratch, building my first website around the course, and helping others make money along the way.

Got questions? Ask away

Gambling with an edge changed my life for the absolute best. We are living in a time where you can make thousands of dollars by repeatedly pressing spin button on slots on your phone. If you've never took advantage of any of these online casino offers, you are basically sitting on a gold mine.
I've had my fun with the casinos, and I also want you to enjoy these winnings while they last. Hope my post was eye-opening to those who are fairly new to this concept.
So that being said. Ask me anything! I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities, within reason.
Update 12/4/23: Thank you everyone for the feedback and genuine interest in this subject! Many of you have contacted me, and the main theme appears to be that the course price poses a significant barrier to entry. Apply the code PIONEER for a discount expiring by the end of the year. Hopefully, this encourages more people to take the plunge, and profit!

So let's take a look at BetMGM $2,500 WV deposit match promotion.

BetMGM WV $2,500 Casino Promotion
In order to take full advantage of this signup offer, you must deposit $2,500 into BetMGM WV, and you will immediately receive $2,500 in casino bonus. But in order to withdraw the casino bonus, you must wager 15 times the bonus amount (15 X $2,500 = $37,500).
Let's say we choose an eligible slot Egg-O-Matic (96.5% RTP) to complete the wagering requirement.
Expected value (EV) of this promotion is calculated as follows:
EV = Bonus - [ Bonus x Playthrough requirement x (1- return to player percentage) ]

A bit about me:
  • I have a background in physics and engineering and went to school for both bachelor and masters. If you think my math is wrong, I will challenge you to a friendly duel using mathematics!
  • Before this journey, I actually started with match betting on sportsbooks. That journey deserves another detailed post if enough people are interested.

2023.11.29 15:27 BobW212 Mid-Major Roundup! - Catching Up With Mid-Major Storylines, Tidbits, Six Undefeated Mid-Majors in Action Tonight

“It was the day before Thanksgiving and all thru the house a lot of sniffling was heard, even from the mouse.” “R.W. Jones from “A Very Covid Holiday.”
That’s right, that dreaded word went through out house again, causing me to be out of the loop with my writing and a lot of the goings on in the mid-major college basketball world. I decided to forgo my mid-major poll vote this past week because of it, though I have tried to catch up with the hot-topics of the last week or so. I will probably use this blog to jump around a bit, then go back to my more traditional way of blogging starting tomorrow.
Florida Atlantic Has Bounced Back Well From Early Season Woes, St. Mary’s Has Not
When Florida Atlantic (5-1) took a home loss to Bryant (4-4) on November 18, I thought it could be cause for major concern. Sure, it wasn’t UVA losing to Chaminade in 1982 bad, but a team returning nearly every major player from a Final Four squad losing to Bryant didn’t seem like it would equal a recipe for success for the remainder of the season.
Well, since that 61-52 loss, Florida Atlantic have reeled off three straight neutral court wins against top 65 programs (Butler 91-86, Texas A&M 96-89, Virginia Tech 84-50). They did all that in four days. The 84-50 drubbing in the ESPN Events Invitational championship game against Virginia Tech was particularly noteworthy, as it happened on a nationally televised game and reminded the hoops nation that the Owls are still a force to be reckon with.
In fact, the Bryant loss didn’t even hurt their national standing that much, as they sit at 13th after starting the season just inside the top-10. The schedule gets no easier for FAU, as they host Liberty (6-0) tomorrow. FAU will be the favorite as Liberty has yet to face a KenPom top-100 team, but as Bryant showed, FAU may be vulnerable at home.
Saint Mary’s (3-4) has not bounced back from their surprising home loss the same way FAU did. On November 12, Saint Mary’s lost to Weber State (Weber State has lost to Gardner-Webb and Colgate since, but did beat Yale in between) at home, 61 to 57. Like FAU, they had a chance to bounce back on a neutral floor in short order, but suffered a 79-54 loss to San Diego State and a 66-49 loss to Xavier.
Saint Mary’s had the tougher match-up against San Diego State, but if preseason polls were to believed (they hardly should be believed, it turns out) then San Diego State (and especially Xavier) are teams Saint Mary’s should be competing with. After the Xavier loss, the Gaels did bounce back with a 34 point drubbing over a decent Davidson team, but then fell to Utah at home, 78-71, this past Monday. Again, Utah is another tough team but a team that many predicted to have a better season than Gonzaga (which is still possible, it’s early) needs to start coming up with some winning basketball. Friday brings them a date with yet another decent squad in Boise State (3-3), but Saint Mary’s has to start figuring out what’s going wrong, especially on the offensive end, if they hope to turn around this season anytime soon.
Six Mid-Major Undefeated Teams That Play Today
(20) Colorado State Rams (6-0) vs. Colorado
With Colorado State’s shellacking of a top-10 squad in Creighton (69-48) on Thursday, the Rams took over second place in the mid-major polls, behind Gonzaga but leading FAU. Additionally, they are now 20th in the national rankings. Senior guard Isaiah Stevens is a big reason for Colorado State’s early season success. He averages 17.5 points and 7.8 assists (2nd in the nation) per game. Senior forward Joel Scott does the dirty work (6.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks per contest), but also is second on the team in scoring, averaging 15.7 a game.
The Rams host Colorado in a huge “Rocky Mountain Showdown” tonight. Colorado is bringing a 5-1 record into the game, with their only loss being an overtime loss to a one loss Florida State team. Some bad news for the Rams is that they may be without the services their senior forward Patrick Cartier (10 ppg) this evening. He is listed as questionable with a back injury. As of this writing, the home team Rams are 3.5 point favorites in the eyes of oddsmakers.
Nevada Wolf Pack (4-0) vs. Montana
Nevada head coach Steve Alford already thinks his team is a top program. Coming off a 22-11 campaign, Wolf Pack fans expect even more from their experienced squad (7th most D1 experience in the nation). So far, so good, as they have jumped out to a 4-0 start. That start is good enough for seventh place in our mid-major rankings, but only six “others receiving votes” in the national rankings. I think some of that is their strength of schedule. Their win in Seattle against Washington (4-2) is a good one, but other than that there hasn’t been much resembling a true test on their schedule. Using KenPom rankings, their next game, a home game tonight against Montana is against the 209th ranked team. Following that is a home contest against Loyola Marymount (108), and then a home game against 175th ranked UC Davis. In short, I think the verdict is still out on if Nevada is as good as their early season indicates.
What I do know is that they take great care of the ball, as they are second in the country in turnovers per game (as in, they don’t turnover the ball). In addition to that, they turn the other team over to the tune of the 8th ranked steals per game in the country. I also know they have two legit scorers on their team in the form of Jarod Lucas (18.3 per game) and Kenan Blackshear (17.8 per game), both seniors. Sophomore guard Nick Davidson is about as steady as they come. In his four games this season he has scored, 13, 11, 13, and 10. That’s while averaging a team high 7.8 rebounds per game.
I do know there is a lot to like on paper about this team, but I’m not sure we should be ready to anoint them quite yet.
James Madison (6-0, 2-0) vs. Buffalo
James Madison will host Buffalo (1-5) in my former stomping grounds of Harrisonburg, VA tonight, where they will be 21.5 point favorites.
JMU has a huge discrepancy in their national ranking (22) versus their KenPom (71) and Barttorvik rankings (66). The reason for that is because JMU beat Michigan State when Michigan State was ranked 4th in the country, and was rewarded for that.
They have obviously remained undefeated since that opening night upset, but it hasn’t been without some close calls. Following the Michigan State game, they needed two overtimes to beat Kent State (which was legit one of the wildest games I’ve ever seen). They needed a late run to beat my scrappy Radford Highlanders, 76-73, and Southern Illinois played JMU close, losing by only six.
The Dukes have continued to win, and that is step one on most people’s list of steps. The issue is that the Dukes have no more games left on their schedule that will bolster them in the eyes of national voters as they are favored to win all but one of their games as of this writing (an away game against Appalachian State on Jan 27 where they are one point underdogs according to KenPom). They are going to run into the issue Charleston had last year where every loss is going to be huge in the sense that their resume can’t handle many setbacks if they want to be an at-large NCAA team. History shows that finishing undefeated is unlikely, but they’ll have to finish a lot closer to undefeated than being a 4-5 loss team if they wish to stay relevant.
I do know that they are one of the more exciting teams to watch due to their upbeat offensive tempo. They have five players that average double-digits in points, and they have a 6th that scores eight a game. That equates to 92 points per game for the Dukes, 7th in the nation.
Princeton (6-0) at Bucknell
Until this past Saturday, Princeton was the only undefeated team in the nation that was undefeated that had yet to play a home game. They got that home game and victory, defeating Northeastern 80-66. Their undefeated start has started to generate a little bit of national attention, as they have received 14 votes in the “others” section.
A neutral win to start the season against the Rutgers and an away victory against Duquesne showed us that this Tiger team that made it to the Sweet 16 as a 15 seed may have some unfinished business, only this year they might not be surprising anyone.
A lot like JMU, they don’t have many opportunities left on their schedule to improve their at-large chances, and any losses will hurt them significantly. KenPom actually has Princeton has the favorite in all of their remaining games, but the Ivy League is significantly improved from years past, and it does seem somewhat unlikely Princeton won’t suffer a hiccup against a team like Yale, Harvard, or Cornell along the way. But, the ball is in their court, as they say.
Sophomore Xavian Lee has been a joy to watch for the Tigers. He averages 18.8 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field as a 6’3” guard, which includes 44.3 percent from deep. In his most recent outing, he scored 30 against Northeastern. Senior guard Matt Allocco is right behind Lee in scoring, averaging 17.5 a game, while shooting an absurd 63.9 percent from the field. Princeton as a team loves the long ball, as 40 percent of their scoring comes from beyond the arch. Will the adage “Live by the three, die by the three” eventually hurt this Tigers’ squad or will they ride this momentum to another deep March run? Who knows, but I’m excited to find out.
Evansville (6-0) at Missouri State
In I think my last write-up I wrote about Purdue Fort Wayne being an undefeated team I should mention before I don’t have another chance to talk about them in that regard again, as they went on to lose that night to a good San Francisco squad by 16. Evansville might be in that same ilk (who had me using the word “ilk” on their “We Have Fans Too” bingo card today?).
Evansville best win came against a top-180-ish squad in Chattanooga at home. For the most part they have feasted on teams such as Louisville (so weird to consider Louisville an “easy win”), Bellarmine, and Tennessee Tech. Missouri State’s only loss came on opening night against West Virginia with their best win probably coming against Kent State. Vegas likes Missouri State by 11.5 in each teams MVC conference opener.
Senior Ben Humrichous is the name to watch (and to try to spell) for Evansville. The senior averages 19 a game.
Bradley (6-0) at Murray State
Bradley also opens their MVC conference slate today with an away game at Murray State. It’s no secret I’ve liked Bradley since I ranked them over Drake in my first mid-major poll (proved to be right so far, every dog has a squirrel that has a broke clock, or something). It also helps that about 93 percent of my readers appear to be Bradley fans based on the comments my posts get on Reddit. They’re up to 9th in our mid-major poll and have now received a vote in the “others” national poll. Coach Brian Wardle is trying to improve on a 25 win season a year ago. So far, so good.
The MVC is tough, and Bradley only being favored by 3.5 against a 2-3 squad and Murray State is an indication of that. Bradley has beaten solid mid-majors this season in Utah State, Tulane, and Vermont.
All five Bradley starters average at least nine points a game. Malevy Leons, the 6’9” Dutch forward, averages 15.5 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
Defensively, the Braves are among the better teams in the nation. They force opponents into a lot of bad shots. Teams, struggling to find a shot are often forced to throw up a contested three, and Bradley is only giving up 25 percent of three’s attempted by opponents. Bradley is just a really solid all around team that is fun to watch if you like team basketball.
Undefeated Teams Aren’t Everything!
But they sure are fun to watch. Still, some other games to keep an eye out on, that probably deserve a little more ink than they will get today include,
UC Irvine at Duquesne
Richmond at Wichita State
Tarleton State at Stephen F. Austin
Drake at Valpo
Dayton at SMU
Louisiana Tech at New Mexico
Enjoy the pretty loaded day of college hoops. Looking forward to getting back into the mix of things after missing a few days. 2023.11.28 19:22 dandantheotterman UPDATE: Tracking Wemby's Blocks on ESPN's Top 100 Players This Season

I thought it'd be fun to track exactly who Wemby blocks this season, from high flying rimjobs(gigidy) all the way to terrorizing the 3 point line and everything inbetween. But we're not tracking just any ol' players. No no no, we're goin with ESPN's top 100 players for this season. (And preseason, too because this post is my chocolate factory and I'm a lame, unimaginative, tophat-less Willy Wonka.) I'll be updating this list throughout the season, hopefully once a week but probably whenever I remember.
My prediction is, if he stays healthy, Wemby will be able to block >60 players on this list.
So far through 17 games, Wemby has blocked 19 players on this list!

2023.11.24 13:43 JimJimOfficial Scarlet Lady Review -- November 15 to 19

Scarlet Lady Review -- November 15 to 19
Getting off the ship I was exhausted. I hadn't been to bed before midnight in days, pushing until 1 or 2 in the morning when I am normally in bed by 930. We have been on maybe a dozen cruises across RCL, NCL, MSC. First with VV. In our 40s. Inside cabin on deck 10, Splash of Romance upgrade.
That was a crazy trip.
Scarlet Night was one of the greatest parties I have ever been to, cruise ship or not. The opening ceremony, the interaction with all the happenings staff all in character, the show in the red room, and the dance party at the pool. I didn't get in the pool but was up on the ledge around the pool and danced the entire time amongst the octopus. Wow what a night. The staff had a blast. There also might have been some extras to learn the true story of the sea queen if you meet the right person....
The Heartbeat show in The Manor. I thought it was just going to be another night at the club. I had no idea what was going to happen with all the dancers and singing. I left that so excited to be a part of the crowd.
The Diva. Over the top and ridiculous. Did the meet and greet, went to the around the world show, and saw some singing. Wanted to see and do more with them.
Went to the disco circus and saw everyone decked out like it was the 70s ready to dance the night away.
PJ party, was the first night and didn't know what we were getting into but still had a blast.
Dual Reality circus show, it was a fun show, being I am not into the usual cruise ship show this one was a joy to watch.
The Galley - went for breakfast in the morning and enjoyed it. Would go in the afternoon to load up on sushi. Didn't try much else because that was all I needed. Did ramen once, was okay.
Gunbae. Are you a social butterfly and want to play drinking games? You'll have a blast. The food was Korean-lite. It was good but if you are used to going to authentic Korean joints it won't blow you away. This isn't a a complaint. Was so much food no one at the table could move by the end. You could ignore all the social aspects of you want but I can't comment on that experience. We had everyone talking together. Do this on your first night so you can meet a few folks and see them during the trip. Drink up.
Razzle Dazzle. Spent about 5 minutes here because we had to run to get a spot for the opening of Scarlet Night at the staircase. Looked like a fun spot but threw everything down my throat and ran.
The Wake. The most traditional of restaurants. Do you like steak and sides and that style of meal? Want to feel a little more upscale? You'll like it unless you are like the people sitting next to us who complained about every piece of food they put in their mouths. Was amazing to listen to how much they thought everything had no flavor.
Test Kitchen. It's an experience. Just go into it with an open mind. It's going to take another two hours. Try everything. A couple of people next to us gave up a quarter of the way. Server had fun explaining it all to us and seeing what we thought.
The Dockyard. Went here when we boarded. Shockingly good. Give me more of those steak things pleass. Pro-tip the outside area in the back of the ship right behind it also servers the same food so sit out there if you can find a seat, raise a flag, and enjoy the view. Can't find a table? Look for folks with these big wooden open seats and ask to join them. You'll make friends. We never did that but several people did ask to join us.
Pizza joint. Please don't order 25 pizzas at 130 in the morning while everyone is coming out of the clubs. I know you can but still, don't. Everyone will hate you. After dancing and drinking it's a good late night snack to take back to your room and sit in bed eating while watching Thor. It will be packed late at night so just prepare yourself for that.
Snack place by the arcade, the social club? Popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, cake pops, rice crispy treats, and so on. It's exactly what it sounds like.
Um, what else? I need a nap. We shook for champagne. Splash of Romance had a champagne cocktail hour. Everyone else with the package must have not been tempted by the allure of champagne so only 15 or so folks showed up. Fine by me. The bar staff kept both of my hands full of drinks for the entire hour and we got to hang out and chat with the Hostess and The Bounce. No one was paying them any attention so we talked to them the entire time. Lovely people.
Went to the main pool once during the sea day to see if what the internet told me was true, and it was. The drunk party people contain themselves there during the day. We observed it from above but dared not go into what looked like an MTV Spring Break wild time. I like my drinks more than I should but this was too much. If you want drunken twerking and people falling over on each other boozing go for it but I consider myself a more sophisticated alcoholic.
Inside room was fine. Bigger than what we were expecting and had no issues with anything. The room was a cot like others have said but I could sleep on a floor if I needed to so it wasn't much of a deal breaker. Watched lots of movies. Live TV is limited to BBC News, BBC HD, and two ESPN channels. Tons of movies on demand though so we stuck with that. Did room service once. $7. Was just what we needed.
Bimini Beach Club. Just know this is not Virgin’s private beach club. It's a beach club shared with Hilton, I think. When a VV ship is in port they get exclusive use of it so you won't be around non cruises but this isn't a Virgin establishment. They just use it for the day. If you don't get there early you will have a rough time getting a seat. The main pool will be packed and the beach crowded. You'll need to fend for yourself, grab what chairs you can, be willing to drag things around the sand, and make room for yourself. Or send a sacrificial member of your party on the first tram over there to grab a premium location and pass out while waiting for everyone else to show up. Main pool expect dancing, loud music, the happening staff to be dancing up and everywhere, and a crazy float party. Don't know what all the complaints are about the food. We had the lechon, rice and beans, and the curry stew soup something something. Ate it all.
Went to the spa for 3 hours with the Splash of Romance upgrade, relaxed so hard and had no water I was dehydrated and had to pound some adult Pedialyte when walking around Key West.
I don't really consider this a cruise, not in the traditional sense. Don't go in expecting a standard experience you if you have been on a cruise before.
If I had to summarize the whole trip using only one of my photos it would be this.

Bring your ear plugs, an open mind, your dancing shoes, and go have fun.

2023.11.19 16:57 dandantheotterman UPDATE: Tracking Wemby's Blocks on ESPN's Top 100 Players This Season

2023.11.17 20:32 Rsubs33 Game Preview: Week 11 The Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-2)

Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) vs Kansas City Chiefs(7-2)
In a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl the Eagles will travel to Kansa City to take on the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. The game will be a matchup of the teams with the two best records in the league this season as the Eagles sit with the best record at 8-1 and the Chiefs are right behind that at 7-2. The Eagles are still looking for their first win against their former coach who is undefeated against the Eagles since leaving after the 2012 season. This could be hard with Reid coming off the bye and his record off the bye speaks for itself and he is the best coach at coming off the bye. Reid’s 31-6 record after bye weeks is the best all time. So the Eagles need to be ready for some wrinkles from the Chiefs and be able to show some of their own, especially with the loss of Goedert before the bye. If the Eagles want to find that first win they are going to need to slow down Mahomes and the Chiefs offense and a big key there will be getting the pass rush going. The DEs will probably be looking to redeem themselves after failing to get to Mahomes in the Super Bowl due to the slick field conditions that prevents them from getting around the edge, but they may need to prepare for another slick field as there is a chance for rain in the forecast. Offensively the Eagles need to get Swift and the running game going early and often, too many times the last few weeks have the Eagles had fewer than 10 carries prior to halftime. That can not happen this week the Eagles need to control the clock and keep the Chiefs offense on the sidelines. It should be a good tough matchup like last years Super Bowl, only this time let’s hope for a different outcome. Go Birds!

Chiefs 38-Eagles 35
The Eagles took on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in a highly anticipated game that was a bit of let down due to the field being an absolute disgrace for the sport's biggest game. The field was more like a slip and slide which completely negated the Eagles advantage of their pass from their edge rushers who could not get a footing to get around the edge without slipping. Still the needed to be played despite the poor field positions and Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes put on a show in the first Super Bowl matchup between black QBs. Both QBs excelled Hurts set a Super Bowl record with 70 yards rushing and tied a record with three rushing scores. He also threw for 304 yards and one TD, while Mahomes finished 21 of 27 for 182 yards with three TDs and no turnovers. He ran for 44 yards. In the end it was the Chiefs who came out victorious when Harrison Butker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8 seconds left to give the Chiefs a 38-35 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.

Philadelphia has won the most games in the NFL this season, tallying a league-best 8-1 mark. The Eagles have either held or shared the top record in the NFL every week dating back to Week 1 of 2022.
This is just the seventh time in franchise history that Philadelphia has started 8-1 through 9 games, having previously accomplished the feat during the 1949, 1960, 1980, 2004, 2017 and 2022 campaigns.
Nick Sirianni is the 11th NFL head coach since 1970 to guide his team to an 8-1 start or better in consecutive years, joining Tony Dungy (2005-06), Mike Shanahan (1996-98), Barry Switzer (1994-95), Marv Levy (1990-91), Bill Parcells (1989-90), George Seifert (1989-90), Tom Landry (1976-77), John Madden (1976-77), Ted Marchibroda (1976-77) and Don Shula (1972-73). Sirianni is the first to do so within their first three career seasons as a head coach since Shanahan (1996-97).
Jalen Hurts is the seventh NFL QB since 1970 to start 8-1 or better through 9 games in back-to-back years, joining Peyton Manning (200506), John Elway (1996-97), Troy Aikman (1994-95), Jim Kelly (199091), Roger Staubach (1976-77), and Bert Jones (1976-77). Hurts is the youngest NFL QB since the 1970 merger to achieve this.
Including playoffs, Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts have combined for a 32-11 (.744) record. According to Elias Sports, that is tied for the 5thmost victories by a head coach-QB tandem during their first 43 games together since the 1970 merger, trailing only John Fox-Peyton Manning (34-9), Andy Reid-Patrick Mahomes (34-9), Matt LaFleur-Aaron Rodgers (34-9) and Don Shula-Dan Marino (33-10) in that category.
Nick Sirianni owns a 31-12 career record with the Eagles, marking the highest regular season winning percentage (.721) by a head coach in franchise history. It is also the 2nd-best figure by an NFL head coach since 2021, behind Andy Reid (.767, 33-10). Philadelphia has registered a 22-4 record since the start of last year, which amounts to a league-leading .846 winning percentage during that stretch.
The Eagles have produced a 25-2 (.926) record in the last 27 regular-season games started by Jalen Hurts (dating back to Week 15 of 2021), including 14-1 since Week 11 of 2022. Since 2021, Hurts has posted a .769 winning percentage (30-9), which leads all NFL QBs.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Jalen Hurts has won 12 consecutive regular-season starts against teams with winning records. That mark is tied with Peyton Manning (2008-10) and Vinny Testaverde (19982000) for the longest streak by an NFL QB since 1950.
Philadelphia has registered an 11-2 record in away games dating back to the start of 2022, which marks the best road winning percentage (.846) in the league during that stretch. Furthermore, Jalen Hurts has produced a 12-1 (.923) record in his last 13 starts on the road.
Dating back to the 2021 campaign, the Eagles have captured 9 of their previous 10 regular-season games vs. AFC opponents.
Philadelphia ranks 5th in the NFL in total offense (376.8 ypg), trailing only Miami (435.3 ypg), Detroit (406.4), San Francisco (383.3 ypg) and Dallas (379.1 ypg) in that category. The Eagles also rank 8th in rushing offense (129.7 ypg) and 10th in passing offense (247.1 ypg).
Philadelphia is tied for the 3rd-most points per game (28.0) in the NFL, behind Miami (31.7) and Dallas (29.9). Additionally, the Eagles rank 2nd in points per drive (2.61), trailing only the Dolphins (2.78).
Philadelphia leads the league with 23.3 first downs per game. Overall, the Eagles lead the NFL for the best third-down offense (50.0%) while also ranking 1st in fourth-down success rate (76.5%).
Defensively, Philadelphia is allowing only 66.3 rushing yards per game, which leads the league. That is the club’s fewest rushing yards allowed (597) through the first 9 games of a season since 1944 (538).
According to Next Gen Stats, the Eagles have produced the 3rd-most pressures (154) in the NFL, behind Baltimore (167) and San Francisco (155). They are also tied for the 3rd-most QB hits (65), trailing only the Ravens (69) and 49ers (68). Overall, Philadelphia has totaled the 4thmost sacks (30, tied) in the league, behind Baltimore (39), Kansas City (31) and L.A. Chargers (31), while also ranking 3rd with 12 FFs.
On special teams, the Eagles rank 3rd in the NFL in average starting field position after kickoff returns (26.2-yard line), behind Dallas (27.0-yard line) and Carolina (26.4-yard line). Philadelphia also ranks 4th in punt return average (14.0) and T-10th in FG percentage (90.0%).
Brandon Graham will appear in his 188th career regular-season game, tying David Akers (1999-2010) for the most in team history. A 14-year NFL veteran, Graham is also tied with NFL legend Chuck Bednarik (1949-62) for the most seasons played in franchise history.
In Week 9 vs. Dallas, Graham sacked Dak Prescott twice (full and split sack) on consecutive plays to stymy a come-from-behind effort from the Cowboys late in the game. At 35 years old, he became the oldest NFL player to record 1.5+ sacks in the fourth quarter of a game since James Harrison on 12/31/17 vs. N.Y. Jets with New England (2.0).
Graham (72.0) ranks 4th on the Eagles’ all-time sacks list.
alen Hurts ranks 3rd in the NFL in total yards per game (295.9), trailing only C.J. Stroud (301.3) and Patrick Mahomes (300.0). He has also produced the 2nd-most total TDs (22), behind Josh Allen (24).
Since Week 7, Hurts has completed 69-of-92 (75.0%) attempts for 805 yards (8.8 avg.), 8 TDs, 1 INT and a 125.5 passer rating. In that span, Hurts ranks 2nd in the league in completion percentage, passing TDs (tied) and passer rating, while winning each of his 3 starts.
A.J. Brown ranks 2nd in the NFL with 1,005 receiving yards, trailing only Tyreek Hill (1,076). Brown became the fastest player in Eagles history to reach 1,000 receiving yards (9 games). Mike Quick (1983) and Pete Retzlaff (1965) each eclipsed that milestone in 11 contests.
Haason Reddick (7.5, T-10th) and Josh Sweat (6.5, T-15th) are one of two NFL pass-rushing duos to register 6.5+ sacks apiece this year, joining the L.A. Chargers’ Khalil Mack (9.0) and Joey Bosa (6.5).
Since Week 4, Reddick is tied for the 2nd-most sacks (7.5) in the NFL, behind Khali Mack (9.0). Overall, his 4.5 sacks in the fourth quarteOT this season rank 2nd, trailing only Trey Hendrickson (5.0).
Sweat ranks 4th in the NFL with 50 pressures, behind Micah Parsons (53), Alex Highsmith (52) and Josh Allen (51). He leads the league with 21 pressures in the fourth quarteOT this season as well.

Matchups to Watch
Travis Kelce vs the Eagles LBs and Safeties
The last time these two teams played in the Super Bowl, Kelce had a big day against them, though this is a very different team in the middle of the field and a different coordinator Kelce is still the best TE in football and the best weapon in the Chiefs offense. Kelce has great relationship with Patrick Mahomes and always seems to know exactly where Mahomes needs to him to sit down in a zone and get open. The Eagles struggled in the middle of the field vs the Cowboys with CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson both torching them. The Eagles will need to be better this week if they hope to slow down Kelce and the Chiefs. Morrow and Cunningham have played well this season, but neither have the coverage skills to keep up with Kelce, so we are more likely to see Kelce matched up with Reed Blankenship, but whoever is covering Kelce should be getting help, you can’t let Kelce beat you.
The Eagles pass rush vs the Chiefs two new OTs
The Chiefs have two new offensive tackles from the last time the Eagles saw them in the Super Bowl. Orlando Brown and Andrew Wylie are gone and have been replaced by Donovan Smith and Jawaan Taylor, who rank as the No. 56 and No. 62 tackles in the NFL, according to ProFootballFocus. That seems like it could be a disastrous combination going against the Eagles’ edge rusher duo of Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick, who have been fantastic this season. Both will look to make up for the Super Bowl where they could not sack Mahomes on the slick field. But Mahomes has been great at avoiding sacks this season. He’s been sacked just 12 times in nine games. There are 32 quarterbacks in the NFL who have been sacked more this season. Mahomes is doing this while holding the ball for long periods of time. Mahomes average time to throw is an astounding 3.02 seconds. His ability to avoid pressure and make backyard football plays is really unmatched and has to be frustrating for opposing defenses. While he hasn’t been taking sacks, Mahomes has been hit 38 times, which ranks third in the NFL and he’s been hurried 40 times, which is tops in the NFL. So the Eagles just have to hope that they’ll speed up Mahomes’ process and hit him when they can. They also have to be aware that he has the ability to scramble for yards and to maintain their rush lanes without getting two far upfield.
D’Andre Swift vs the Chiefs Run Defense
The Chiefs have been very good against the pass this season, however they haven’t been nearly as good against the run. They have the 17th ranked run defense and are giving up 4.5 yards per rush which is 27th in the league. The Eagles have gotten away from the run the last few weeks, but this is a week to probably get back to it in order to keep Mahomes off the field and control the clock and move the ball and wear down the Chiefs porous run defense. If the Eagles could get the run game going like it was in weeks 2 and 3 of the season with Swift it could be huge in getting the Eagles through this tough stretch of games. Getting Cam Jurgens back at guard and a healthy Hurts who is also a threat to run should help the Eagles get the run game going this week if they commit to it.
The Eagles corners vs the Chiefs secondary
The Chiefs secondary has been playing lights out this season. The Chiefs have the No. 5 passing defense in the NFL, giving up just 176.0 yards per game this season. The Chiefs boast a really great 1-2 punch at cornerback with Trent McDuffie and L’Jarius Sneed but their third cornerback position is more of a weakness, whether it’s Jaylen Watson or Joshua Williams out there. And recently, it’s been much more Watson. Waton will generally play on the outside on 3rd downs with McDuffie inside. The Eagles should be a test for the Chiefs as Smith and Brown are by far the most dangerous receiving duo they will have faced so far this year. Brown in particular might be a tough matchup due to his size, he has roughly 30lbs on all three of the Chiefs CBs. The Eagles may also look to play more 11 personnel and utilize veteran WR Julio Jones at a high rate with Dallas Goedert sidelines with a broken forearm. Lining Jones up in the slot could pose matchup issues on third down with McDuffie who Jones is 4 inches taller than. The Eagles will need to get the passing game going to keep up with the Chiefs though.
